Mar 02, 2007L'imam Hasan, sa femme Hacer et sa fille Fatma arrivent à Karaağaçlı, une petite ville ferroviaire au milieu de la nature sauvage de l'Anatolie. En plus de ses fonctions d'imam, Hasan va enseigner la religion aux enfants de la ville pendant le mois sacré du Ramadan. Son comportement inhabituel à l'égard de sa femme et de sa petite fille attire l'attention des habitants de la ville. Pendant ce temps, Adam, le fils du chef de gare, fou de trains, commence à découvrir un monde dont il n'avait jamais entendu parler auparavant grâce aux leçons données par Hasan : les trains, le péché, les bonnes actions, le paradis et l'enfer… tout s'entremêle. Accusé d'être trop dur et impitoyable envers sa famille, Hasan se voit un jour obligé de révéler son « secret » et celui de sa famille, ce qui change tout aux yeux des gens. Mais il reste un autre secret dont personne, même Hasan, n'est conscient. Les habitants de la ville, y compris Adam, se souviendront toute leur vie de ce Ramadan.

Although his father forbade him due to having been lost his other son in a mine accident, he starts to work as miner. Soon after Semih loses his arm during an accident. The mine owners offer to pay blood money. Semih first leans towards this idea that everybody else accepts, with the death of his father, his mind is changed. His unstable mood also causes conflicts with his wife. She leaves home. On the one hand, Semih pursues his legal struggle and on the other, he works hard to get his family back.
