En 1919, les communistes hongrois aide à la défaite des Tsaristes, les Blancs. Près de la Volga, un monastère et un hôpital de campagne sont détenus par un côté puis de l'autre.

Baku, Year 1920. Secret agent of the Emergency Commission Engineer Mammad Rustamov is sent to Berlin with a special assignment. On the pretext of treating his son's illness, Mammad is endangering his life and people around him.

In this provocative Soviet drama, an aged couple are left homeless after their farm burns down, and they head off to live with their impoverished daughter. When they arrive, they are appalled to learn that she has abandoned her child and husband to run away with a married man. The husband is now an alcoholic, so the grandparents stay on to support their son-in-law in his time of need and to help care for their grandson. Later, the errant daughter is dumped by her lover and returns. Many fights ensue until the grandfather banishes his troublesome daughter from their lives.

Based on the novel by Charles de Coster "The Legend of Thyl Ulenspiegel and Lamme Goedzak, and their Adventures Heroical, Joyous and Glorious in the Land of Flanders and Elsewhere." First part: "The Ashes of Claes". XVI century. The freedom-loving and cheerful people of the Netherlands under the rule of the Spanish king: persecution, torture, bonfires of the Inquisition, encouraging scammers. The fearless Thyl Uhlenshpiegel and his faithful girlfriend Nele have to go through many trials. Second part: "Viva Beggars!". The people of the Netherlands, tormented by cruel royal decrees, taxes, heresy, torture and executions, began a war of liberation against Spanish rule. Many feats will be performed by the national hero Tilbert (Thyl) Ulenspiegel and his friend Lamme Gudzak before peace returns to their homeland.

A story about high school students whose holidays were overshadowed by the outbreak of war. Enrolling in the militia, they not only staunchly assist the Soviet troops in the rear, but are also ready to defend their native city with weapons in their hands.

En Russie, durant l’été 1400. Trois moines peintres d'icônes, Kyrill, Daniil et Roublev, désireux de travailler à la décoration de l’église de l’Annonciation de Moscou, se rendent chez le célèbre peintre Théophane le Grec dans l’espoir d'obtenir sa recommandation. Seule la candidature de Roublev est retenue. Au cours de son voyage, l’homme, qui n’avait illustré jusque-là que la beauté spirituelle, découvre la terrible condition des hommes et s’interroge sur le sens qu’il doit donner à son travail. Huit ans plus tard, Roublev exécute avec Daniil les peintures murales de la cathédrale de la Dormition de Vladimir…

The film is about a group of people who in other times wouldn't have anything in common, some of them innocent bystanders, some moral criminals. But nothing is straightforward and simple. From Russia "the run" continues to Constantinople, to Paris, back to Russia. Some of them have understood that they can't live outside Russia and go back maybe to be happy, maybe not, some go back to face sure death for their crimes, some don't go back and know that are going to miss homeland forever, some are comfortably well off (are they?) in exile. Sentimental without syrup, tragic and comical at the same time.
