La vie quotidienne de 4 couples dans le même bâtiment, chacun vivant dans son petit appartement. Le premier couple se situe dans la trentaine et habite ensemble depuis 5 ans sans être marié. Le deuxième est composé d'une femme de 33 ans et d'un jeune homme de 21, qui n'est plus aux études et qui n'a pas de travail à proprement parler, qui se laisse entretenir par sa copine.
