Un garçon de 18 ans, connu sous le nom de Pietro Pons est en réalité une fille. Depuis sa naissance, sa mère, Lamberta, la fait passer pour un garçon. Elle était mariée avec Joseph Pons, issu d'une riche famille et avec qui elle eut un garçon. Le père disparut un jour et l'enfant, d'une constitution fragile mourut.

Theophil Läppli is a swiss patriot, who after a trip to Greece tries to recover the democratic roots of Switzerland.
