À Manille, dans les années 1980, Turing Manalastas et son épouse Luz, ouvriers dans une imprimerie, vivent modestement dans la capitale des Philippines en proie à des mouvements sociaux. Enceinte, la jeune femme est contrainte au repos forcé, et le couple à des dépenses supplémentaires. Turing parvient à un arrangement avec son employeur, Monsieur Lim, à condition qu'il n’adhère pas au syndicat qui est en train de se monter dans l’imprimerie. Malgré cela, ne pouvant payer l'hôpital où Luz a accouché, Turing doit accepter à contrecœur la proposition de Lando, un ami d'enfance, consistant à cambrioler la maison de Monsieur Lim.

Angela Delmar works as a waitress for one of the seedier bars in Manila. There she meets five patrons of the bar, who also turn out to be a gang specializing in drugging and raping girls and later on selling them to prostitution.
