Jane, avec des regards simples mais un cœur d'or, est toujours entre deux emplois. Une fois qu'elle obtient un emploi, son talent pour créer des situations difficiles, il perd immédiatement pour elle. Ricky est son soupirant, mais il obtient nulle part que la jeune fille n'a pas de temps pour l'amour. Alors Ricky va de pair avec elle dans la recherche d'emploi. D'une certaine façon, Jane atterrit sur un emploi comme gouvernante. Non à un enfant, mais à un homme fruste très vieux, très riche qui veut encore mener la vie de ses pauvres, les jeunes non-civilisés. Son fils est maintenant en cours d'exécution de millions de l'ancien homme. Il veut élever le père de la manière civilisée. Et il veut prendre toute la ville grâce à des accords de prise de contrôle. Il est impitoyable et a jeté des milliers dans les rues.

Alan est choisi au hasard pour être le sujet d’une expérience psychologique. Jo Jo est choisie pour exécuter la mission : prétendre être amoureuse d’Alan. Mainlander Nan moves to Hong Kong to earn a living by being a gambler and casino dealer. She meets up with her stuntman cousin Po and his horse-race gambler landlord Li and together, the three try to make ends meet in the gambling world. However, they stumbled upon a plot where greedy investor Fu Hon-San swindled the shares of his gambler brother Fun Hon-Hwa, whom befriended Nan, and, as a result, the gamblers band together in attempts to topple Hon-San.

In “82 Tenants” the widow Zhang and Bing, her new young consort, want to sell an apartment house to a property developer but old man Zhang's will provided that the current tenants can stay there as long as they want or the building survives. So it is clear who the villains are—joining the greedy couple is Chao who has purchased all the land around the building but needs this final piece so he can know everything down and build a money spinning edifice. One the other side are the tenants, a disparate group whose grudgingly and occasionally antagonistically shared communal life, while not ideal, is certainly better than not having a place to live.

Rocky Chan (Eric Tsang), is a shy character who is always nervous and awkward. On his 1st wedding anniversary, Rocky returns home and finds that his wife has left him. His best friend Charlie (Ray Lui), and his girlfriend Mildred (Rowena Lam) decide to introduce ladies of all characters to Rocky, creating a series of comic situations. Mildred has an accident and has to stay in hospital but Charlie goes on a business trip leaving her to Rocky.
