Leszek Kowalewski

Set in the 1960s, in a small town in Poland. After the destruction of an old mill, an impersonated devil appears in its place. The local leader and priest try to make him go away by different ways.

Tadeusz Krzakoski, the director of a failing state-owned company, is married with problems. His mistress, the daughter of a Communist party bigwig, says she's pregnant and Tadeusz knows he'll have to marry her to save his reputation and his job. But divorce is never simple and Bareja's screwball comedies are never boring.

Un jeune couple s'aime. Le garçon dispose d'un travail sûr qui lui convient mais finit par devenir un petit voleur qui ne peut plus payer ses dettes et décide de voler des maisons où il rend visite à des femmes au foyer solitaires. La fille travaille comme infirmière mais est trop sensible dans les cas extrêmes. Parallèlement à leur histoire, on trouve une métaphore d'un laissez-pour-compte dans une casse, qui s'efforce par tous les moyens de se débarrasser du chien qui s'attache à lui. À la fin, il attache des bâtons de dynamite au chien, mais ils se détachent et l'explosion les tue tous les deux.

Five teenagers on the cusp of their final year in high school ponder about their futures.

A stowaway sneaks aboard a ship departing on a cruise down the Vistula River. The captain takes him for a Communist Party cultural coordinator and the intruder gladly adapts to his new role, immediately setting to work at manipulating the passengers and crew into silly and vaguely humiliating games. Before long, Tym has got everyone under his thumb and created his own comedic dictatorship.

The main character has quit school, makes a living by taking pictures. He seduces a nurse who treated his head wound which he earned in a fight. They witness a hit-and-run driver killing a little girl on a sled. He builds up an elaborate trap by putting a doll dressed as a child down the hill in the path of a car. The man hits it and thinking that he hit a child - runs. Marek takes pictures of him and tries to blackmail him to use his car for a week. He wants to use the car to win back the nurse, who could not cope with his humors...
