Tsanko, un cantonnier d’une cinquantaine d’années, trouve des billets de banque sur la voie ferrée qu’il est chargé d’entretenir. Plutôt que de les garder, l’honnête homme préfère les rendre à l’Etat qui en signe de reconnaissance organise une cérémonie en son honneur et lui offre une montre... qui ne fonctionne pas. Tsanko n’a qu’une envie : récupérer la vieille montre de famille qu’on ne lui a pas rendue. Commence alors une lutte absurde avec le Ministère des Transports et son service de relations publiques mené par la redoutable Julia Staikova pour retrouver l’objet.

This is the story of Mityo and his son Vasko, who live in a poor area, near to the Bulgarian-Turkish-Greek Border. Mityo had lost everything that has mattered to him – his wife, his work, the confidence of his son, Vasko. In order to get him back, Mityo has to find forgiveness and pay for his sin, done 25 years ago.

Vassil (41) is a documentary film director who has not achieved the success he dreams of. He puts all his energy filming the broken relationship between a monk and his mother. Meanwhile Vassil's wife and their 14-year-old daughter take second place in his life. The director learns that the monk is in a psychiatry while his mother will have to undergo a cancer surgery. To bring them together to forgive each other is Vassil's long awaited finale of his film. He faces a dilemma to shoot "life as it is" or show human compassion and empathy.
