Mild-and-meek Casper, the Friendly Ghost, is depressed and glum because people will have nothing to do with him despite the fact that he has read "How To Win Friends, and Influence People".

Little Billy wants to play pirates with two older friends. However, the big kids won't let him play. He meets up with Casper, and the two build a raft together and sail out to to sea to search for pirate treasure... and find it.

Robert Fulton's steamboat makes a successful first trip when Casper's ghostly form frightens it into action. Casper assists Paul Revere on his famous ride when Revere's horse, frightened by Casper, ceases to balk and breaks into a gallop. George Washington, crossing the Delaware River, is sped up by Casper's appearance, and Casper becomes a hero by besting the British Redcoats.

Casper est un fantôme pas comme les autres. En effet, il est gentil et ne cherche qu'à faire le bien autour de lui et se faire de nouveaux amis. Malheureusement, du fait de sa condition, il effraie tout le monde autour de lui et se retrouve au final toujours tout seul...

Casper, le Friendly Ghost, qui n’aime pas effrayer les gens, est traîné devant le Ghost Tribunal et est rapidement reconnu coupable d’amitié au premier degré et est expulsé de la communauté locale des fantômes.

Casper se lie d’amitié avec un ourson doté d’un talent naturel pour le jonglage. Bientôt, le ourson est dans le cirque, mais un gorille s’avère être beaucoup plus effrayant que n’importe quel fantôme.
