Dongdong's father financially supports the family with low wages alone. However, he quitted his job in order to retain his colleague's job, because he sympathy her, who is a single mother. This made their living became worse, and drove his mother left with her past lovers. To earn living, Dongdong has to work with his father and lost the chance of schooling. Missing mother drives them nuts, and they decided to go to Dalin to find her. The journey of searching mother begins.

In 1771 the oppression of Tsarist administration forced the larger part of Kalmyk's approximately 170,000-200,000 people to migrate to Dzungaria. Ubashi Khan, the great-grandson of Ayuka Khan and the last Kalmyk Khan, decided to return his people to their ancestral homeland Dzungaria, and restore the Dzungaria Khanate and Mongolian independence. Their goal is not an easy one and a lot of fighting and drama unfolds.

Zhula lives with her only son in the grasslands. One day, a man asks her to hire him. Zhula hires him but he doesn't want to tell his background.

The Refornment Movement of 1898 resulted in the "Six Heroes" dying. Huo Yuan Jia, who was filled with patriotic enthusiasm, had been eager to participate; however, he fell into the enemy's trap and could only watch as the heroes of the country died. Not long after, China was invaded by the enemy. A year later, Huo Yuan Jia who was now living in ChangZhou took a stroll along the mountainside. Discouraged by his past and in fear of falling into the enemy's trap again, he decided to move to Shanghai. Huo Yuan Jia's following a reputation grew quickly. The Japanese (who had invaded China) grew worried and began to provoke Huo Yuan Jia. Huo Yuan Jia fearlessly charged into battle and finally defeated the enemy with his courageous actions.

Luo Yining, unbound by traditional formalities, frequently stood up for her downtrodden "Third Brother" Luo Shenyuan, discovering his hidden talents in the process. After heartbreak, she aimed for independence by starting a business. Luo Shenyuan, wrongfully accused, sought the truth about his mentor's death. Grateful for Yining's support, he helped her when her business faced difficulties, and their mutual understanding grew into love.

Set in Jiudaowan, this story follows a group of young people over 40 years of reform and opening up. Through life's struggles, the twists and turns of love, and the challenges of their careers, these true friends face it all together, growing and maturing into adulthood.
