Two men each possess half of a treasure map, but over the years, their greed has prevented either from actually finding the treasure. But it seems that they may now be too late, as a third man plots to steal the treasure right out from under them.

Cheung est un homme courageux mais un naïf qui ignore que sa femme le trompe avec son patron. Ce dernier est un riche marchand sans scrupule qui décide de se débarasser de son employé génant. Il décide donc de louer les services d'un puissant sorcier taoïste corrompu. Heureusement, son collègue qui n'est pas de son avis, entrepend d'aider Cheung à se défendre contre les maléfices qui le hantent dans la nuit.

Wu Ma (le moine taoïste rapeur de Histoires de Fantômes Chinois) simule sa mort pour pouvoir toucher un héritage. Son meilleur ami (Samo Hung) trouve ça bizarre et décide de se déguiser en pantin de funérailles pour mener son enquête. Ma finira par mourrir de la main de ses complices. Son fantômes demandera alors à son copain de l'aider à se venger
