L'histoire a lieu au Lycée de la Côté Ouest de Taïwan (Jianghu), pendant un temps où Jianghu était toujours protégé par les bons contre les mauvais. Les deux livres d'art martiaux légendaires cachés dans 4 écoles différentes sont recherchés par les deux groupes (bons et mauvais) qui utilisent tout leur pouvoir pour les obtenir. Ceux qui y parviendront auront le pouvoir de régner sur Jianghu. Parmi les élèves de la Côte Ouest, Linghu Cong est le plus puissant. C'est une personne qui ne se soucie pas de la gloire et de la richesse et qui ne souhaite vivre qu'avec son amie d'enfance (et petite amie) Lu Jiang Ning. Pendant ce temps, Linghu Cong développe lentement une amitié avec Ren Ying Ying, une personne solitaire et fille d'un des chefs du clan mauvais.
