In 1842 the Crown prosecuted Weewar, a Binjareb Nyungar warrior, for carrying out tribal payback by spearing Dyung of the Mooro Group. When Weewar heard that Dyung, a member of the tribe responsible for the death of his son, was moving through Binjareb Territory he was governed by one law – Traditional Aboriginal Law. Weewar’s trial became the test case in Western Australia which determined that British Law took precedence over traditional law. Dedicated to Theo Kearing a Binjareb Warrior.

En 1931, à Jigalong, près du désert de Gibson, trois filles aborigènes vivent heureuses auprès de leurs mères : Molly, quatorze ans, sa cousine Gracie, dix ans, et sa sœur Daisy, huit ans. Sur ordre de M. Neville, protecteur en chef des Aborigènes pour l'Australie occidentale, le constable Riggs arrache les fillettes à leur famille pour les transférer au camp de Moore River, situé à l'autre bout du continent. Là-bas, les conditions de vie sont sinistres. Les enfants sont entassés dans d'immenses dortoirs, mal soignés, mal nourris. Molly décide de fuir avec Gracie et Daisy, et toutes les trois entament un périple de plus de 2 000 kilomètres...

Associée à un de ses amis dans une société de logiciels spécialisée en cartes géologiques, Sandy, passionnée par son travail et évidemment débordée, se retrouve dans l'obligation de gérer le séjour d'un homme d'affaires japonais, client potentiel. Leur première rencontre est un véritable fiasco. Pour Sandy, Hiromitsu est froid, antipathique, sexiste et un peu volubile. Lui la considère comme une femme très impolie, arrogante, peu attrayante, tout juste bonne à lui servir de guide, car il veut absolument visiter le désert du Pilbara. Cette expérience, extraordinaire sous bien des aspects, va les amener à reconsidérer leurs a priori.

The show aired on Network Ten in 1996 and centred around students at an Australian school for the athletically gifted. Sweat was Heath Ledger's first regular role on a television series; he played Snowy Bowles, a gay cyclist. Scenes shot in & around Perth included at locations such as Challenge Stadium & the now defunct Perry Lakes Stadium, scene of the 1962 Commonwealth Games.
