Mar 01, 1985Duran Duran's Oakland, California concerts that were filmed for the Arena (An Absurd Notion) movie were also edited to form the one-hour As The Lights Go Down concert video. As The Lights Go Down is essentially the Arena video without the theatrical sequences, although the live footage for many songs was edited differently. This version was first aired on the Cinemax cable television channel, and later on MTV and other music channels.

Jan 01, 1986The Power Station Video EP is a video by The Power Station, released by EMI-PMI in 1986. The EP contains promotional videos of the first three singles by The Power Station, which were all released in 1985. These singles are "Some Like It Hot", "Get It On (Bang a Gong)" and "Communication". Model Caroline Cossey is featured in "Some Like It Hot". "Communication" contains an array of footage showing communication in the world, with clips of the band performing the song in the studio. The EP was re-released as a DVD, which was part of The Power Station (2 Disc Set) in 2005.

Jan 01, 1984In 1984, Duran Duran toured Canada and America. It was their first major tour as headliners in these two countries. Over 79 days, they travelled approximately 18,000 miles and played 51 shows in 43 cities to over 550,000 fans. The entire tour was filmed for this behind the scenes documentary which offers some fascinating and intriguing glimpses into the fun, glamour, agony, ecstasy and ultimate glory of three months on the road. The band is shown thriving on the pressures, psyching themselves up pre-stage and then delivering their all to a thunderous response. The production manager, tour manager, road crew are frequently caught fraught with last minute panics and touring nerves. Hoards of hysterical fans are seen chasing down and beating on the band's limo and with a camera placed inside the car it gives the viewer an insight into how loud and sinister that must have been. And in between all of this comes the great music.

Le groupe est formé en 1978 par Nick Rhodes (claviers) et John Taylor (basse). Ils sont ensuite rejoints par Roger Taylor6 (batterie), Andy Taylor (guitare) et Simon Le Bon (chant). Les trois Taylor du groupe n'ont aucun lien de parenté. Ce groupe fera une tournée à l'été 2022 suite à la sortie de leur 15e album studio sorti en 2021 intitulé Future Past. Ceci est l'un des premiers concerts comprenant des pistes de cet album.

Jun 22, 1997Le monde est à vous est une émission télévisée de divertissement conçue et présentée par Jacques Martin entre 1987 à 1997 sur la chaine Antenne 2 (devenue France 2 en 1992). Elle succédait à l'émission Tout le Monde le sait (1985-1986) dans la tranche Dimanche Martin. Il y avait trois candidats qui devaient répondre à des questions sur des sujets multiples: celui qui enregistrait le plus de points décrochait le voyage de son choix. Il y avait tous types de variété, chanson française, internationale mais également de la musique classique. Et assez fréquemment Jacques Martin interprétait une chanson qui rappelait l'époque de sa jeunesse (il avait 55 ans en 1988). Cette émission a été remplacée en septembre 1997 par Sous vos applaudissements.
