Charles Redon

A tribute to a tormented love story by the young French filmmaker Charles Redon, who adores and constantly films his girlfriend, an ambitious professional ballerina named Mathilde Froustey. Mathilde eats, trains and sleeps while Redon acts as her assistant. He is fascinated by her physical form and her discipline until he finds out that she is abusing her body. This completely changes the way he sees her: in his eyes, she is transformed from an admirable dancer into a dance-obsessed person with no mercy for her own body. When she starts to avoid him and no longer wants to cooperate with the film, Redon becomes obsessed with the issue that has become a taboo subject in their relationship.

En 1930, Olivier Châteauneuf, 10 ans, vagabonde avec son ami David à travers Montmartre. Ils se livrent à « la Guerre des gosses » avec les « gougnafiers ». Olivier vit seul avec sa mère Virginie, la mercière du quartier. Depuis peu un homme sortant de prison rôde dans le quartier, c’est Privat. Il séduit Olivier en lui offrant un Louis d’or et des allumettes suédoises. Un matin sa mère ne se réveille pas et c’est le drame pour Olivier qui réalise qu’il est orphelin. À 11 ans sa vie bascule, la rue devient son territoire, et une nouvelle existence commence avec ses compagnons : Mado, Bougras, l’Araignée, Privat, Marceau, qui lui font découvrir l’amitié et l’amour.
