Avec Les Jours et les nuits (qui recouvre l'année 1986 de mes Carnets filmés), je fais un compte-rendu méthodique de mes travaux cinématographiques: création de nouvelles séries (Lire, Trio, Avec Mariola), tournage d'un nouveau long-métrage (Amours décolorées que je mettrai dix ans à monter) avec Mariola San Martin. C'est aussi la rencontre avec Pierre et Dominique Laudijois à Châteauroux qui m'invitent à participer comme acteur à leur film Joe from Maine. C'est encore et toujours mon filmage de la cérémonie de la reconstitution de la Passion du Christ à Burzet dans l'Ardèche et une curiosité: une pellicule, non développée, filmée par Charlotte Laurier au Québec que j'ai retrouvée dans une caméra que je lui avais prêtée.

On her wedding night, Sipang's husband leaves his bride hurriedly after receiving a call. That, unfortunately, would be the last time Sipang sees her husband. As the young bride teams up with her husband's brother and his wife, she slowly uncovers facets of her husband's life she never knew existed. With her husband still missing, Sipang launches a desperate search for him.

Sisom takes its title from the Thai word for the color orange, the color of monks' robes, a color never used in a secular connection in Thailand.

"This film is a compilation made out of the discarded clippings of various other films... AXE (pronounced ASHAY) is a key word in the Yoruba language, spoken in West Africa (Nigeria) and means 'life'.

Observations through a slowly gliding camera on the canals of Thailand reveal the living quarters and open lifestyles of people living right on the waterfront. A uniquely filmic spatial illusion is created, accented by an outstanding soundscape.
