Sri Lankan director Prasanna Vithanage sets this tragic story of the fifties in the walled city of Galle Fort, where Violet, a middle-aged woman, has raised two daughters alone. One is married and one engaged, and she seeks to get them settled as the reappearance of Victor, her lost first love, makes her wonder if she might also be happy.

A street kid is faced with the decision of whether to continue with his family's street performing profession, as his father becomes increasingly invalid and his family, helpless.

Based on the famous novel Thun Man Handiya, this movie demonstrates a fraction of life of a youth who reflects back to his childhood and steps to a new era of life when he moves to the Governmental Art Academy.
