Quelque part à Bucarest, trois jours après l'attentat contre Charlie Hebdo et quarante jours après la mort de son père, Lary – 40 ans, docteur en médecine – va passer son samedi au sein de la famille réunie à l'occasion de la commémoration du défunt. L'évènement, pourtant, ne se déroule pas comme prévu. Les débats sont vifs, les avis divergent. Forcé à affronter ses peurs et son passé et contraint de reconsidérer la place qu'il occupe à l'intérieur de la famille, Lary sera conduit à dire sa part de vérité.

This is Emil’s story, the man who doesn’t believe in ghosts, and his best friend, Titi. The plot unfolds in a remote hamlet, a place looking like a slice of heaven. However, the story begins at the 40-day memorial service for Smaranda, the late wife of Emil. Days pass by, and Emil realizes that Titi looks like his days are numbered. He wants to brighten him up, but nothing helps. That’s because 40 days after her death, Smaranda moves into Titi’s house and starts haunting him.

A story based on a real event, the tragic case of a family from an isolated village, in the Danube grinds. Ana, who lives abroad, returns to her native village in the Danube Delta, in order to take part in her grandfather Dumitru's funeral. Everything takes a sudden turn when Ana discovers the tragic events that her grandparents had gone through, caused by the traditions and mentalities of an archaic world.
