Après que Jacques Guddebuer (alias Johnny Chicago) a été abattu par la police après un braquage de banque, Chuck Moreno, avec l'aide du frère de Jacques, Ray Guddebuer, tente de réaliser le dernier souhait de Johnny Chicago : un voyage en Amérique. C'est pourquoi ils veulent apporter ses cendres à Chicago. Cependant, la femme de Jacques, Jenny, ainsi que sa fille, Tess, une policière, ne sont pas vraiment emballées par cette idée...

The title of the film, set in Luxembourg in 1942, during the Nazi occupation, amalgamates the words Schacko (helmet) and chapeau claque (opera hat). The village, in which it is set, has not yet been feeling the effects of the war at this point.

Seitz has been abusing his underage daughter for years and is the father of her first child. He is a brutal perpetrator of violence and has several relevant criminal records. When Tanja confides in her new boyfriend, he persuades her to go to the police. Seitz is sentenced and threatens to beat Tanja to death while still in court. Tanja and her boyfriend have long been married and have children of their own when, after seven years, fate catches up with them again: they are terrified of Seitz, who is soon released from prison and threatens revenge. Tanja and her family turn to the authorities in vain. They can only intervene if there is a concrete threat. But then it will be too late, Tanja fears. Too late for her children and herself. Together, the family gets a rifle...

Une prison dont personne n’est jamais sorti. Pour retrouver son amant, Lena va pourtant rentrer dans la Colonia Dignidad.

Un entrepreneur de pompes funèbres irlandais vit paisiblement avec sa famille à la périphérie d’une petite ville sur la route de la Californie pendant la ruée vers l’or de 1849. L’arrivée de Dutch Albert et sa bande de hors-la-loi va tout faire basculer.

In August 1914, Belle, a young well-bred lady and Betty, her chambermaid, discover a big trunk in the attic. When they manage to open it, thousands of photos and postcards spread all over the floor to form a pile of memories. Thus, the ladies start to reminisce about what was called "la Belle Époque".
