Au XIème siècle, les fils du Grand Prince Vladimir règnent sur les terres de Kiev. L’un d’eux, le Prince Yaroslav, résiste contre l’invasion de nombreux barbares. Ces derniers contrôlent les tribus locales en profitant de l’esclavagisme. Le Prince Yaroslav décide de combattre ses ennemis et d’assurer la liberté à son peuple. Il rassemble une armée pour mener une guerre qui va être à l’origine de la création de l’Etat de Russie.
