Un jeune délinquant, Ben, vient d'agresser une automobiliste. Pourtant, c'est un autre méfait qui l'envoie derrière les barreaux. Ce foyer, situé dans un chalet de la Forêt-Noire, est régi par des principes éducatifs stricts et des travaux physiques exigeants. Dans un premier temps, Ben refuse de s'adapter. Mais une jeune éducatrice réussit à amadouer ce garçon rétif.
