Aux Pays-Bas, le 30 avril 2013, des millions de Néerlandais vêtus d'orange, leur couleur nationale, se sont rassemblés. A Amsterdam, la capitale des célébrations, le couronnement de Willem Alexander et de son épouse Máxima, pour cet évènement, un concert très spécial d'André Rieu, le roi incontesté de la valse, a donné en l'honneur du couple royal et de la Reine, Beatrix. Sur la place des musées, au cœur de la ville, André Rieu et son orchestre Johann Strauss ont diverti le public pendant 1 heure 40, faisant valser et tourbillonner la ville. Le programme comprend des classiques comme Time to Say Goodbye , Don t Cry for Me Argentina et, bien sûr, le titre qu'André Rieux a écrit pour le nouveau roi, La Valse du couronnement.

It always gives me great pleasure to host our summer evening concerts on the beautiful Vrijthof square in my home town of Maastricht. But this time we had something extra to celebrate: a silver jubilee! The Johann Strauss Orchestra and I have been appearing on stage together for 25 years this year. Every reason to revisit some of the highlights of our career: Frédéric Jenniges with his zither, Carla Maffioletti with her virtuoso aria Adèle’s Laughing Song (Mein Herr Marquis), the Mastreechter Staar male voice choir, the Platinum Tenors, the seductive Carmen Monarcha with Habanera, Kimmy Skota with the emotional Casta Diva, a reunion with our Russian friends from St Petersburg, and much more...

Live performance by Dutch violinist and composer André Rieu recorded at his annual concert in his home town of Maastricht. Playing to a crowd of over 80,000 people, Rieu is joined on stage by the Johann Strauss Orchestra as well as some special guests including Mirusia Louwerse, The Platin Tenors and Lou Bega.
