En 1933, un paquebot allemand quitte le port de Veracruz au Mexique pour gagner l'Europe et débarquer à Brême en Allemagne après avoir fait escale à Cuba puis à Tenerife. Durant la traversée, ses passagers de classes sociales très diverses et certains, en proie à des problèmes existentiels (notamment une divorcée dépressive et vieillissante amoureuse d'un lieutenant), politiques (activistes, nazis et antis) ou sentimentaux (un jeune couple d'amoureux et d'autres plus ou moins illégitimes), vont vivre des drames ou s'affronter idéologiquement alors qu'en Europe des troubles annoncent la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

Antonio, the famous dancer is preparing a big performance for the TV. But he is missing a good female dancer. When her father died, Dominique de Bellocombes inherited her ancestors' château, some worthless shares and a mine in Spain. To save the castle, which is in danger of falling into ruin, and pay off her debts, she is determined to marry Armand de Puysherbeux, whom she doesn't love, but who is rich. The situation changes abruptly, however, when news comes through that the Spanish mine holds a vein of untapped gold. Dominique leaves for Andalusia, abandoning her fiancé. Her fiancé, determined not to give up on the beautiful Dominique, precedes her to the site, destroys the plans and claims that the engineer is mad...

Title changed to "Flamenco" when it was first released in the USA in 1954, this is a program of Spanish songs and dances with the emphasis on "flamenco" or gypsy contributions. The USA version has an English narrative written by Walter Terry, the dance critic of the "New York Herald Tribune" newspaper. Heading the cast are Antonio (I), Pilar Lopez and Maria Luz, three of Spain's foremost dancers of the time, accompanied by members of the Ballet Espanol. Filmed in Cinefotocolor in which orange and blue dominated, a combination that should appeal to the fans of Auburn University athletic teams. Distributed in the USA by Martin J. Lewis.

Following meetings between Spain and the United States a delegation of a mining company arrives to Granada in search of uranium. The company contacted with the landowners, who agree to sell less of them. Such owner refuses because his ground a treasure supposedly hidden Muslim and refuses to sell them to Margaret, representative of the company. When he refused, Margaret convinces the owner to locate the treasure on your own and sell it in case you find it ... but love gets in his plans.
