Le Japon est totalement irradié par une catastrophe majeure. Une jeune femme vit avec son robot de chevet féminin en attendant que son numéro sorte à la loterie pour pouvoir émigrer. Comme les célibataires ne sont pas prioritaires, elle propose à son amant de l'épouser tout en étant de plus en plus malade…

She insists she needs to know everything and be told the extent of it when a woman catches her husband kissing another woman at their apartment upon returning from the book store. It turns out the man invited the woman in promising to show her his birds.

43-year-old business woman, Harumi. She lives with her husband, after their only daughter, Michiyo, married two years ago. One day, Michiyo is killed by her husband, Koji. Koji is sentenced to death. Harumi initially agreed with it, but starts thinking to stop the death penalty of Koji. Although her husband and all her family are strongly opposed to her decision, she keeps trying to stop the death penalty with the help of Koji's lawyer. Harumi had a secret of Michiyo that she doesn't want to tell anyone.

Haruo has a dream to become the best magician, but, so far, he is only a marginal magician. Haruo also doesn't have parents. He then goes back 40 years in time to Asakusa, Tokyo. There, he meets his parents when they were young and he learns the secret of his birth.

Saori is a high school student at a provincial city. She is a member of playgroup at her school. Yoshioka begins to work at the same high school as a new teacher. Yoshioka performed in plays when she was in college back in Tokyo. Saori, Yukko, Garuru, Nakanishi, Akemi decides to compete in a play competition. Their goal is to make it through the regional competions, but Teacher Yoshioka tells them their aiming low and that they should think about the national competition.

Saeko et Yukako sont voisines dans un petit immeuble de Tokyo. Après le tremblement de terre du 11 mars 2011, Saeko et Yukako vont toutes les deux se sentir mal. Saeko, qui est plein divorce avec son mari, s'inquiète que sa fille ait été exposée aux radiations. Yukako, elle aussi, a peur des radiations et insiste auprès de son mari pour déménager. Les deux femmes deviendront proches lorsque Yukako sauve Saeko du suicide.
