Takase works part-time as a motorcycle courier but plans to switch jobs the next day to become a drug courier with his friend Kono. His final delivery is to pick up original illustrations from an artist named Nana and deliver them to her publisher. One day, Hasegawa encounters Harumi… This is an obscure yet attractive film that extends its style from Kurosawa Kiyoshi to David Lynch. The title, A Bao A Qu, comes from a shapeless being that earns its shape as the pilgrim of a true heart near him featured in Indian religion and The Arabian Nights.

Fujio et Mitsuo sont deux employés travaillant dans une entreprise d'extincteurs située à Edogawa, un quartier populaire de l'Est de Tokyo. La capitale nipponne est devenue une sorte de dépotoir puisqu'un gigantesque volcan nommé le 'Black Fuji' sert de décharge à la population. Les habitants y viennent pour se débarrasser de tout et n'importe quoi : des déchets évidemment, mais également des cadavres. Les corps enterrés en ces lieux étant de plus en plus nombreux, ils finissent par revenir à la vie et croiser le chemin de Fujio et Mitsuo...
