A wealthy couple in early retirement move into a bungalow in a park-like residential complex and are all set for a fulfilling retirement. Their happiness could be perfect if the workmen hadn't caused a tiny leak in the roof, which would require repeated repairs. What initially appears to be a ridiculous repair takes on threatening proportions and requires ever greater construction work.

In a bomb explosion in a parking garage, the architect's wife Anna is buried together with the writer Robert. The two seriously injured people are scarcely recovered from the rubble. Three young Russian families go for winter vacations to an unnamed exotic country, intending to rent a beach condo. However due to numerous comedic obstacles they never make it to the beach, staying at the hotel for the entire trip.
