In Petersburg during perestroika there are two people, Alya and Nika. She is a little funny Petersburg intellectual; he is a French architect. Moscow, year 1982. Scientist Matvey Pyotrovsky creates a time machine and conducts a scientific experiment, which divides the apartment in two parts. It's first part is left in the 80-s with the professor, while the second one is transported to year 2020 to a modern family: businessman Sergey, his wife Svetlana and daughter Kristina. This kind of coliving creates a lot of trouble for everybody, since layering of two times means each of the families has lost access to the other part of the apartment. But problems don't end there: inventor's grandson Pavel, after waiting for 38 years, tries to prevent one tragic incident.

The series takes place in a small Russian town where a deadly virus appears. Most of the inhabitants die, only a few people remain alive, who are affected by sleeping sickness: people cannot wake up on their own, and after two hours of sleep they fall into a coma.

The brisk and determined Sasha wants to take revenge on her ex-boyfriend and disrupt his wedding. To put his plan into practice, Sasha comes to St. Petersburg, where he gets a job at the registry office. But instead of the registrar of weddings, she gets the place of the registrar of divorces. Sasha becomes a witness to many ridiculous situations, as well as a participant in romantic adventures.

The action takes place from April to December 1986. The Ukrainian department of the KGB of the USSR becomes aware of the interest shown by foreign intelligence services in the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. To establish the whereabouts of an experienced CIA officer, Albert Lenz, who is suspected of espionage, on the territory of Pripyat, Lieutenant Colonel of military counterintelligence Andrey Nikolaev arrives in the city.

Summer, St. Petersburg of the XXI century. Student Rodion Raskolnikov is exhausted by lack of money, unemployment and thoughts about the meaninglessness of his existence. But the idea is maturing in his mind that some people have the "right" to do the most vile things if they make great discoveries and move the world forward. To test the theory on himself, he kills an old woman-a micro-lender. Investigator Porfiry Petrovich is on the trail of Raskolnikov, who wants to get a sincere confession from him.
