The Great Patriotic War is coming to an end. Six-year-old Zuriko lives with his grandmother in a small Georgian village. His mother abandoned him and his father is at the front. The boy waits for his father, but he doesn't come back from the war alone, but with a new wife, Iano. A conflict arises between the three.

The film tells the life of a Georgian woman from 1920s to the present day. Love, marriage, Russian annexation and collectivization, world war, loss of children - Sidonia went through many sorrows and troubles on her way of life, but she always maintained spiritual courage and hope for the future.

A young girl is trying to save an island which is endangered by nearby construction.

Sophiko, a well-known journalist, seems to be more close to many of her respondents when they need her advice than to his family members. All engrossed in her work, she suddenly finds out that she is losing her husband who has started a love affair with another woman. Of course, it strikes her badly but life never lets her to concentrate on her personal problems.

Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, Georgy Makharashvili, ancien viticulteur paysan, quitte son village géorgien et se rend au front pour retrouver son fils, un soldat blessé. Mais avant que le père puisse se rendre à l'hôpital, le fils a été renvoyé au front. Le père ne peut pas retourner dans son village sans avoir retrouvé son fils, il accompagne donc l'armée soviétique jusqu'à la victoire finale sur le fascisme à Berlin.

There was a good blacksmith in the village. Someone decides to promote the blacksmith and appoints a secretary for him. Later the blacksmith gets his substitute and a cashier. There emerges a bunch of the loiterers around the blacksmith.
