After a surprise invitation, an enigmatic media mogul Dragan Ivanovic returns to his hometown to examine his extremely hostile relationship with neurotic younger brother, as well as brother's new and suspicious romance.

At the one side of the inner yard lives a mother, who is left alone by her husband, with a little boy and his sister. At the other side lives a wife with her husband, a geologist in pension, who has suffered a heavy stroke and now lives at the edge between life and death. These two women are trying to find ways to deal with their loneliness. The mother is desperately trying to find a man, and she becomes addicted of latinoamerican sope operas. Kurjak, the personification of human kindness, who is impaired and disturbed, as an old and ornate in the hospital, speaks in detail about his life. Through this searing story of sergeant Zika Kurjak and his life, some of the crucial historical circumstances of the 20th century are being blunted, as well as the fate of the heroic Serbian army, which becomes part of the new system after unification, and which the system is gently destroying leaving individuals individually fighting for it and prevent inevitable decay.
