“Hür Adam” or “Free Man” in English is the real-life story of a very influential Kurdish scholar in Turkey that had lived between 1877-1960, 'Said Nursi'. A writer, philosopher, and philanthropist, he compiled many books on Islam covering various themes of faith, brotherhood, and philanthropy and exploring the reasons behind societal weakness, poverty, ignorance, and divisions.

Un faubourg d’Istanbul qui se précarise à mesure que la valeur de l’immobilier augmente. Un quartier fleuri, couvert d’arbres et de jardins, dont un côté donne sur le détroit du Bosphore et l’autre, sur des gratte-ciels aux reflets éclatants. Une grande société de construction et des institutions financières internationales attirées par la spéculation immobilière, se liguent pour faire main basse sur cette perle du Bosphore en s’appuyant sur des partenaires douteux. Les jeunes du quartier, conscients des dangers à venir, s'engagent dans une lutte déterminée en mettant tout en œuvre pour mobiliser leur quartier.

Yazgi (Destin), inspiré de "L'Étranger" d'Albert Camus, montre un personnage, Musa, qui paraît exilé du monde, indifférent à tout, à commencer par son propre sort. Fonctionnaire aux douanes, il constate avec indifférence, voire soulagement, la mort de sa mère, avec laquelle il vivait ; il se marie sans plus de sentiment avec une collègue dépitée de n'être rien de plus que la maîtresse de leur chef de bureau. Lorsque ce dernier assassine sa femme et ses enfants, et se débrouille pour faire accuser Musa, présent auprès d'eux ce jour-là, il accepte la responsabilité du meurtre, bien qu'il ne l'ait pas commis.

Sidika is the story of Saka family and their young daughter Sidika who live in a poor neighborhood of Istanbul. Sidika was not allowed to go to high school, raised to wait her husband-to-be at her fathers home, not even allowed to leave their house on her own. But she educated herself through books, newspapers and TV. She approaches her life, half-witted older brother, oppressive and alcoholic father and traditionalist mother in a satirical and fun manner along with the current political and sociological events of Turkey and the world. She gazes the world through her window as she hungers for all the intellectual accumulation of the universe.

Ferit is the cherished heir apparent of one of the well-established families of Antakya. Ayse, on the other hand, is a lively young girl living in Istanbul who has managed to stand on her own feet. Ferit, who is about to marry Hande, the daughter of the Varoglu Family, confronts the facts before the wedding and his world turns upside down.
