Premier album solo depuis White Chalk (2007), Let England Shake (2011) marque le grand retour de la rockeuse. Un disque en solitaire mais enregistré néanmoins avec le concours de John Parish. Produit par Flood (Depeche Mode, U2), il comporte les contributions de Mick Harvey, ancien membre du groupe Bad Seeds, et du musicien Jean-Marc Butty. Le disque se distingue également par son côté organique et spontané, certaines prises de son ayant même été faites dans une église ! "Nous avons joué la quasi-totalité de la musique en live, explique PJ. Je n’ai fixé aucune règle et nous avons tous pris du plaisir à travailler ensemble, avec beaucoup d’énergie et de vitalité. Ce fut une très bonne expérience et cela explique la vitalité qu’on retrouve sur le disque." La Britannique défend ensuite ce disque sur scène. Elle se produit ainsi les 24 et 25 février 2011 sur la scène de l’Olympia dans le cadre de sa tournée européenne. L’occasion d’entendre ses nouvelles chansons interprétées en live.
