A Hungarian historical movie that tells the story of the Hungarian ancestors, the seven leaders, who are looking for their new homeland in the last years of the 9th century. Before they leave their original home in Asia, they have a farewell party. They wake up with a severe hangover after consuming large quantities of kumis. The seven leaders wake up to find that their people have disappeared.

Ben Kline is an American television star and a bankable name, who is cast to portray the Hungarian writer Miklos Radnoti, whose journal of poems was found with his body, buried in one of Hungary’s mass graves. Kline is also the son of a Holocaust survivor and has long resented his father’s refusal to speak about the War. Now given the opportunity to play the role of a hero, but faced with the reality of a victim, the boundaries between truth and illusion begin to blur.

A bookshop renowned for its rare works is mysteriously and filled with copies of a book entitled 1, which doesn't appear to have a publisher or author. The strange almanac describes what happens to humanity in a minute. A police investigation begins and the bookshop staff are placed in solitary confinement by the Bureau for Paranormal Research. As the investigation progresses, the situation becomes more complex and the book becomes increasingly well-known, raising numerous controversies. Plagued by doubts, the protagonist has to face facts: reality only exists in the imagination of individuals.

L'histoire débute en 1954 à Berlin, coeur même de la guerre froide où Harvey Torrita, le chef local de la CIA – surnommé " le sorcier " - et son assistant, Jack McCauliffe, tentent de faire passer à l'ouest des transfuges du KGB. Les informations que ces derniers peuvent livrer sont capitales ; elles concernent la présence d'une taupe aux plus hauts échelons de la CIA. L'échec d'une des principales défections apporte la preuve de cette trahison. Mais reste à trouver le coupable... Cette quête sera le combat personnel de Torrita et MCCauliffe pour les années à venir, impliquant aussi bien le MI6, le Mossad, que le KGB...
