Jirocho Shimizu has now sealed his family's long sword with a ban on fighting and makes a living as a cargo worker. His zeal is tested when he is placed in the middle of Daimon's gambling den affair.

Shimizu Jirocho aka Yamamoto Chogoro has established a family in Shimizu Port and works on river construction. One day, Inosuke is killed, and suspicion falls on the Jirocho family. Oryu, Inosuke's daughter, attempts to take revenge on her father. Little do they know that the killing is the plot masterminded by Kitsu An Takei and Katsuzo Kurokoma who have returned to take revenge on Chogoro and the Denzo families.

Masao is falsely accused and jailed for the murder of a loanshark to whom he owed a lot of money. His sister Kiriko makes the long trip to Tokyo, specifically to accost Otsuka, Japan's top criminal defence lawyer, and plead with him to take her brother's case. They live in Kitakyushu which, though a city, she contends that the local lawyers are not up to the job. Otsuka contemptuously brushes her off. A year passes. Masao has suicided in jail, his appeal having failed due to the lack of interest and competence of the local defence lawyer. Kiriko returns to Tokyo, planning revenge on Otsuka for refusing the case and causing her brother's death.

MUSIC STATION (ミュージックステーション) is a popular weekly music variety show that has been on the air since 1986. It airs Fridays at 8pm on TV Asahi and usually has 5-8 J-Pop artists and groups as guests on each show. The two hosts: タモリ (Tamori) and Hironaka Ayaka chat with each artist for a couple minutes before they hit the stage and perform their latest song. The show also runs specials from time to time, along with a yearly 3+ hour (now 4) live performance bonanza around Christmas time called MUSIC STATION SUPER LIVE. The show also features Ward E.
