Invisible pour ceux qui l'entourent, un réalisateur contemporain se retrouve comme par magie dans le musée de l'Ermitage à Saint-Pétersbourg au début du XVIIIe siècle. Il y rencontre un cynique diplomate français du XIXe siècle. Les deux hommes deviennent complices au cours d'un extraordinaire voyage dans le temps, à travers le turbulent passé de la Russie, qui les conduit jusqu'à nos jours.

When a young man wants to marry a poor girl, her cousin envies her very much. She even makes everybody believe that the main character was in love with her. He escapes from many difficulties in order to find his beloved who also became trapped in a luxurious villa with some strange relatives. The people inside villa are vampires, they were called upyri in those days in Russia. They suck blood of anyone who comes to see them. The young man too much in love so he looses his head and goes directly to the nest of vampires.

While the bride is late for the wedding, the guests tell various marriage stories, which confuse the groom.

Glinka's "patriotic-heroic tragic opera" in four acts 'A Life for the Tsar' or 'Ivan Susanin' (as it was known during the Soviet era), recorded live at the Bolshoi Theatre in 1992, and starring Evgeny Nesterenko, Marina Mescheriakova, Alexander Lomonosov and Elena Zaremba, with the chorus and orchestra of the Bolshoi, conducted by Alexander Lazarev. The historical basis of the plot involves Ivan Susanin, a patriotic hero of the early 17th century who died in the expulsion of the invading Polish army for the newly elected Tsar Michael of Russia, the first of the Romanov dynasty, elected in 1613.

Après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, un groupe de prisonniers de guerre allemands est conduit, par erreur, vers un camp russe tenu par des femmes qui n'hésitent pas à faire subir de nombreuses humiliations aux captifs.
