When Laura was six, her parents got divorced and her father disappeared from her life. The happiness she experienced on her final journey with her father, when he danced with her at a flea market in Brussels, holds a special place in Laura's memory. When Laura finds the shadow puppets her father once bought for her in the attic, these open up a portal to the past for her.

Rode Gordijnen (Red Curtains) is a film about a man who tries to breathe new life into his out of touch relationship with his wife. Both characters seem to have reconciled themselves to their extinguished marriage: they have simply stopped communicating. But along the way their attitude towards each other, and towards their surroundings, changes substantially.

Former Amsterdam police detective Floris Wolfs has been transferred to the police department of the south-Dutch country town Maastricht. His metropolitan experience nicely complements the local expertise of his new country colleagues, who know the folks. Slowly he fits in, while solving countless crimes together with his female partner Eva van Dongen.
