Sugisaki Momoko used to be a nursery school teacher. Her difficulty smiling leads to communication problems with parents and her contract is terminated in one year. Momoko is picked up by ‘Little Snow’, a home care service for sick children, and makes a fresh start there as a caregiver. When a child has a fever, the caregiver would visit the home and care for the child in place of the parents who simply cannot take time off from work. Momoko encounters all sorts of families at the places she is sent to. With the support of her colleagues and the occasional help of her best friend, Yumika, she starts to face work, romance, family and friendship.

Daichi Sawamoto est un homme froid, distant et plutôt solitaire. Il a eu une enfance tragique suite au suicide de son père. Il s'est toujours juré de ne pas lui ressembler. Il est journaliste et fait passer son travail avant sa famille. Lorsque sa femme Kaori le quitte, il découvre enfin l'amour que lui porte son fils Waku et il décide donc d'élever, seul, son fils. Sawamoto Waku est un garçon qui admire son père à tel point qu'il collectionne chaque article écrit par Daichi. Il décidera même de vivre avec lui, plutôt qu'avec sa mère, afin qu'il ne se retrouve pas seul. Mais une mauvaise nouvelle va faire basculer cette nouvelle vie et créer un lien père-fils très fort entre cet homme et ce petit garçon : Waku, qui a la leucémie.

Centered around typical Japanese food, a solitary salesman travelling through the country for business purposes, eats at its various establishments and experiences the various delicacies of Japanese cuisine.

The story revolves around an unconventional children's show called "Minna de Utao!" Kenta is a young musician whose band breaks up and who gets dumped by his girlfriend. To top it off, his own family labels him as useless. Unexpectedly, he becomes an "uta no oniisan," a singing character on the children's show.
