Un metteur en scène, mène ses deux acteurs et son assistante dans une maison isolée en pleine nature afin de mieux préparer leur représentation théâtrale : « Hamlet-machine » de Heiner Müller. Une fois arrivée sur place, la petite troupe est confrontée, graduellement, autre qu’au quotidien banal, aux tensions et à l’ordinaire difficulté des répétitions, à des étranges situations extrêmes et insolites.
