A lonely seamstress receives a strange request: to sew a cloak made only from the wings of moths. Her client soon disappears, but maybe she has one more chance to get it right this time. A philosophical fairy tale about humans and moths, both lost in the lights of the world.

En 1929, sur les bords du lac de Constance, des zeppelins sont construits dans la petite ville de Friedrichshafen. Fasciné par les dirigeables, Robert se fait engager à l'atelier de montage grâce à Konrad, le frère de Thea, dont il est tombé éperduement amoureux. Le trio passe tous ses loisirs ensemble, fréquemment accompagné par Karl. En 1937, obsédé par les zeppelins, Robert, désormais père d'un petit Jakob, délaisse sa femme. Une nuit, Konrad meurt dans des conditions mystérieuses en tombant d'un engin prêt à être lancé, le Hindenburg. Quelques mois plus tard, Robert meurt à son tour à bord d'un dirigeable. Dans les années 70, Jakob, puis son propre fils, Matthias, en 2005, vont successivement chercher à comprendre ce qui s'est passé...

In the next city he encounters militia groups and a reinforced police presence. Children are forbidden to be on the streets unless accompanied by adults. The world has changed...
