Rocky, trompettiste au chômage, retrouve Angie, une conquête d'un soir, dans le s locaux du syndicat où tous les musiciens new-yorkais quêtent un engagement. La jeune femme est enceinte. Elle ne lui demande pas de l'épouser, mais simplement de trouver un médecin complaisant. D'origine italienne, Angie craint la colère de sa famille, et tout particulièrement celle de ses trois frères. Rocky et Angie finissent par réunir la somme exorbitante que leur demande un intermédiaire. Sur le point d'avorter, Angie essuie les remontrances de Rocky, qui lui propose de l'épouser. Comprenant que le jeune homme ne l'aime pas, mais veut seulement l'aider, elle refuse...

The Mike Douglas Show is an American daytime television talk show hosted by Mike Douglas that originally aired only in the Cleveland area during much of its first two years on the air. It then went into syndication in 1963 and remained on television until 1982. It was distributed by Westinghouse Broadcasting and for much of its run, originated from studios of two of the company's TV stations in Cleveland and Philadelphia.
