About to turn 100 years old, Santo Amaro School closed its doors in 2020, amid the pandemic, leaving former students in deep sorrow. The story of the school is now told by different generations of students, teachers, nuns and employees, who return to the school building to remember their time over there: an unreachable past, which, through memories, becomes present once again.

We live in a new age. We are always rushing, rushing for no reason, rushing for nothing. As though time had sped up. Everything implies speed, urgency. But ultimately, why does time seem so short? This film is about the director’s conflict about time and the lack of it in today’s world; she reflects on civilization and the future of existence.

Mixed with fiction and documentary, the film relives the interviews conducted by the writer Clarice Lispector published in the magazines "Manchete" and "Fatos and Fotos" in the 1970s.

A reflection on books and culture through testimonies and images from the Rio de Janeiro's National Library. In this work commissioned by the Ministry of Culture, the director forgoes voice-over in favor of a polyphonic discourse, combining more informative speeches from representatives of institutions with speeches by, for example, Sérgio Sant'Anna and Lygia Fagundes Telles, who express, in a different tone, their passion and vocation for books.

Aspects of writer Clarice Lispector's personality and soul remembered on the occasion of her death in the testimony of friends. The testimonies are interspersed with excerpts from an interview that Clarice gave in life to a television station.
