Le gouvernement russe confie une mission a priori banale au colonel Mazur. Accompagné d'une jeune scientifique prénommée Olga, il devra faire disparaître toute trace d'un laboratoire top secret situé quelque part en Sibérie. Tous deux progressent au sein de la nature sauvage de l'Est russe. Une fois leur mission menée à bien, ils réalisent que les habitants de la région n'apprécient guère leur présence. Strana Glukhikh is about an unusual relationship between two women, one of them a deaf-mute dancer and the other on the run from the mafia.
