The opening bust-shot, with its frequent use of cut-away shots and blurred dialogue, is like a campus version of Ozu's films. As the story progresses, however, the film itself breaks away from a style that was as borrowed (but still very fitting) as the protagonist. The way the film acquires its own rhythm and flavour is more than just a pleasurable experience, it is a cinematic pleasure.

A young woman is convinced that someone inhabit her house during the day.... She will quickly decide to buy a camera to record what is happening in her apartment during her absences.

Kotaro, a very young but dedicated baseball player, is annoyed with Sachiko, a woman brought by his baseball coach to the practice ground. Despite his initial dislike for Sachiko’s attitude, Kotaro starts to romanticize about a relationship between grown-ups.

Le monde est tourmenté par Shocker, une mystérieuse organisation terroriste, qui recrute ses agents en kidnappant des personnes qu'ils transforment en mutants cyborgs. Sawako a été abandonnée par son mari et depuis, elle a élevé seule ses trois fils. Un jour, elle rencontre un jeune homme qui est en train de mourir. Le jeune homme souffre également de pertes de mémoire. Sawako l'appelle Hoshio. Profitant de sa perte de mémoire, elle décide de le faire vivre avec elle et en tant que père de ses trois fils.
