Derrière les barreaux, elle retrouve celle qu'elle admire, Velma Kelly, une chanteuse de jazz condamnée pour avoir tué son mari et sa sœur, pris en flagrant délit d'adultère. Le très populaire avocat Billy Flynn va brillamment plaider leur cause et attirer l'attention des médias sur ces deux jeunes femmes à la superbe voix. Roxie, dont Billy a fait l'emblème de la naïveté abusée, devient en quelque temps une véritable star à Chicago…

The Great Ak calls a council of the Immortals to ask that Santa Claus be given immortality. And to justify it, he tells the history of Santa Claus. The Ak found an abandoned baby and gave it to a lioness and a fairy to raise, who named him Claus. When Claus grew up, the Great Ak showed him the evil and hardship in the world and Claus decides to live there and relieve some of the suffering. He decides to make toys for orphans, but King Awgwa, the ruler of the valley where Claus lives doesn't want the children to be happy, and there is a great battle among Immortals.

Simmons, best-known for her photographs of miniature rooms populated by dolls and of oversized objects—such as a house, birthday cake, and pistol—balanced on female legs, both human and fake, brings these characters to life in a three-act mini-musical. The film is inspired by three distinct periods of Simmons’s photographic work: vintage hand puppets, ventriloquist dummies and walking objects enact tales of ambition, disappointment, love, loss, and regret. Working with composer Michael Rohaytn ("Personal Velocity") and cameraman Ed Lachman ("The Virgin Suicides" and "Far From Heaven"), Simmons’s puppets come to life in miniature domestic scenes that echo real life.
