Hanna et Liv, deux Américaines meilleures amies, sont en voyage en Australie. À court d'argent, Liv, en quête d'aventure, convainc Hanna d'accepter un emploi temporaire au bar d'un pub appelé The Royal Hotel dans une ville minière reculée de l'Outback.
