Naples is a city that contains many worlds and welcomes them all like a loving mother. Don't be fooled by the invitation contained in the title, however, it could contain a joke: to live here you need the right stomach.

Tonino Esposito is the son of the fearsome Camorra boss of Rione Sanità, Naples. Unlike him, however, Tonino is clumsy and utterly innocuous—a good person at heart—and so when his father dies he's passed over in matters of succession. His pride wounded, he doesn't not resign himself and tries to be his own boss, only managing to make a fool of himself. When he discovers that his daughter is dating to the son of the judge who's investigating the boss of Rione Sanità, Tonino sees the opportunity to prove himself in front of his family and all of Naples.

Achille Tarallo is an absent father and an unhappy husband. He drives buses in Naples for a living but his dream is to be a great crooner. In the meantime he sings at wedding parties with his best friend Café, waiting for their band manager Pennabic to make them famous. One day, Achille falls in love with the new caregiver of his mother, a kind woman from Eastern Europe very different from his nagging wife Elide.

They are both related to a mysterious woman, Anneke (Veruschka von Lehndorff ). This is a journey of two people who are so different and yet so similar, sharing their most painful emotions. It will lead them to the discovery of a new way of loving.
