The popular TV journalist Sergei Kupriyanov recently became the country's main television personality and began to make his own program. Dina’s mother moves to live with her daughter and almost immediately tension and conflicts arise between her and her son-in-law Pasha. After returning from the army, Sasha learns that Tonya, whom he loves, met another guy, became a mother, is raising a child and works in an oil field in the Gomel region. Sasha goes to the oil field to see Tonya for a possible explanation.
