Work life for Shunsuke Osaki has been success after success, but at some point his family began to slip by the wayside. As his elderly father begins to show signs of dementia, Shunsuke takes the family on a trip in a desperate attempt to pull them together before it is too late. Director Mitsutoshi Tanaka's adaptation of Masashi Sada's short story of the same name received the awards for Best Director, Best Actress and Best Music at the 1st Asia International Film Festival in Taipei.

Kenji is the youngest member of a team in charge of building a large shopping center. But, to create the new complex, an old dance floor must be destroyed, and every effort to tear down the building is boycotted by a mysterious power. Yasue worked hard to recover business for the restaurant. Due to Yoshito's behavior in wanting attention from his mom, Yasue decided to shut down the restaurant. 18 years later, Yoshito lives alone and he works as a freelance writer. One day, he takes work for a new online foodie website. He works with editor Takenaka Shizuka. Their first assignment involves yakiniku. Around that time, Yoshito hears that his estranged mother Yasue has collapsed.

With a high salary and a beautiful girlfriend, one would expect Osamu to be the envy of all around him. Yet there is something missing in his life. On the other end of the spectrum, 25-year-old Ota Miyuki works part-time at a ramen restaurant while trying to fulfill her dreams of becoming an actress. Though her parents may have named her Miyuki with the intention of her being beautiful and happy, the reality is she is ugly – ugly enough for her parents to worry over her future. Miyuki herself, though she hates it, is also quite aware of this fact. This is where Osamu and Miyuki meet. Shocked by Miyuki's pure and fresh personality, he is drawn to her, but...

Hiroshi, Takeru, and Tetsuo all live in the same city. Hiroshi is an unpopular idol singer and he feels a void in his life. He is placed under confinement by his fan Masako. Takeru believes that a girl returns to consciousness. Tetsuo decides to take revenge on a yakuza who sent him to prison.
