Juge d'instruction fraîchement émoulu, Al Reilly est chargé par son supérieur, l'ambitieux et retors Kevin Quinn, d'instruire l'affaire concernant la mort du gangster Tony Vasquez, abattu par le lieutenant Mike Brennan. Policier intrépide et efficace, ce dernier affirme avoir agi en état de légitime défense; d'ailleurs, on trouve dans la main de Vasquez un revolver qui, peu de temps avant, a servi à tuer un autre gangster.

Story of the model who was assaulted that left her face disfigured. It begins when she comes to New York City and would get work as a model. A guy she met on one of her shoots gets her an apartment in a building he manages. He is constantly hitting on her but she rebuffs him. When he can't take it anymore he sends two men to attack her.
