The film is about a day in the life of Elizaveta Petrovna Glinka, also known as Doctor Liza. Moscow, 2012. The Glinka family prepares for a celebration: thirty years together. The closest friends are invited for dinner, the sons have arrived. Of course, Liza has freed up this day for her family. There’s just a trifle: to stop by the Fund and see the weekly patients at the Paveletsky Station. But the days of Doctor Liza are always full of surprises… In a hospital in a Moscow suburb a five-year-old girl is dying. The duty doctor has to discharge Eva. Due to medical formalities the child, who suffers from cancer, is left without painkillers. In utter despair, the girl’s father turns to Liza for help. When Liza cannot find a way to help the child within the system, she decides on a desperate act…

World War II. In autumn 1941 the German troops completely surrounded one of the biggest Russian cities — Leningrad. 2,5 million civilians got trapped in the city. The German commandment decided to destroy the city with bombings, artillery attacks and, most importantly, with hunger. The most difficult first winter of the siege (1941 — 1942). A young woman Olga is walking through the whole city to her father. She wants to see him one last time to say goodbye and to ask for his forgiveness.

Stories of real people who either suspect someone close to them of treason, deception or even a crime, or are themselves under suspicion. The characters are trying to climb out of the abyss of life circumstances, but there is only one way: to stop lying.

Returning to his small town, after the army, Sanya Kuchin is trying to integrate into a peaceful civilian life: he gets a job as a security guard in the convenience store "Dream", achieves the heart of his former classmate and ... fights with the bourgeoisie, slovenliness, drunkenness and indifference of the local inhabitants. But real life is not an army in which everything is arranged clearly according to the charter, and very soon Sana will have to understand this ...
