D'autres invités assistent à l'événement dont le maestro Ravelli et un énigmatique "professeur". Naturellement, la toile sera volée au cours de la soirée et remplacée par une pâle copie... Dès lors, Spaulding et Ravelli se mettent en chasse. Après de nombreuses péripéties la toile sera retrouvée par l'astucieux capitaine Spaulding.
